Just a quick note to let you know that the Humpbacks are back!
On November 1st as we were cleaning up the boat at Anaeho’omalu Bay after our cruise, we took a moment to look up from our tasks only to see a Humpback breaching and tail lobbing as he cruised past the bay!
Since the boat was already on the mooring we couldn’t head out to investigate, but from our vantage point, he appeared to be by himself, and he appeared to be on the “smaller” side so we’re guessing he was a sub-adult expressing his excitement at his return to Hawaii. Or…maybe he was trying to make a big splash in hopes of attracting the attention of any other whales who might have arrived already.
Regardless of the reason for his splashy display, we were extremely happy to see him, and we can’t wait for all his friends to arrive along the coastline.
This year, we’ll begin operating our Guaranteed Whale Watch Cruises on December 15th. Our popular Wake up with the Whales Cruise will be departing most Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from Anaeho’omalu Bay at 8:00 AM. For those of you who’d like to sleep in just a bit longer, we’re offering our Mid-Morning Whale Watch departing from the dock at Kawaihae Harbor at 9:30 AM on most Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Ocean Sports offers the Best Guarantee on the Island…if we don’t see a Humpback during your morning Whale Watch Cruise, we’ll invite you to come back again on another of our morning Whale Watch Cruises until you do!
And don’t forget…we know where the whales are. We’ve been operating cruises from the Kohala Coast since 1981!
We hope we’ll get to share a Humpback Adventure with you this winter. Call us at (808) 886-6666 or visit HawaiiOceanSports.com to reserve your cruise today!
